Full Job Description

Reception staff provide administrative support to Chilworth day Unit from 8.00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday including bank holidays.
The role of Receptionist works in partnership with the Nursing Team ensuring a comprehensive administrative support and reception function. A key element of the Reception role is to maintain accuracy and completeness of Aria, ensuring patients appointments are scheduled correctly., · In conjunction with the Ward Sisters / Charge Nurse, ensure accuracy and completeness of Patient Administration System.
· Ensure all patient case notes are filed and prepared promptly for the coding process.
· Carry out ward reception duties, assisting patients, relatives and carers, and members of staff with their enquiries, referring enquiries to ward staff where appropriate.
· Undertake clerical duties as required by ward team.
· Arrange patient appointments and transport as required by ward team.
· Complete accurate scheduling of Aria (eprescribing), and Surrey Safe Care.
· Ensure patient case notes are moved promptly from the ward area in order to support the prompt coding of patient treatment. Record the movement of patient case notes from the ward following the Case note Tracking Procedures.
· File medical reports and other patient documentation in patient case notes in accordance with the approved system.
· Assist with the distribution of meals to patients. Liaise with nursing staff regarding patients unable to feed themselves or on special diets.
· As required, collect and deliver specimens, x-rays, etc. to other wards or departments outside normal messenger service hours.
· Collect SACT from Pharmacy if needed.
· Attend all relevant training sessions and meetings.

We are recruiting for a ward receptionist to join our excellent chemotherapy (SACT) Day unit. This is busy but very friendly unit treating up to 130 patients a day with Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy and supportive Cancer treatments within our regional Cancer Centre.
We are looking for hard working, enthusiastic people with good IT and communication skills to join our busy team. Previous experience would be beneficial.
