Full Job Description
Morrison Water Services Northern Region is recruiting for a Civils Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Advisor to work on our Capital Programme contract in the Northern Region Based in our Office at Batley (WF17).
As a/the Civils Safety Advisor you will be part of our SHE Team who are responsible for Safety, Health and Environmental compliance and improvements within capital projects for our water industry related clients in the region.
As the Civils SHE Advisor your responsibilities will include:
- Determine site compliance against company procedures, client and legislative requirements.
- Ensure delivery of legislative compliance and promotion of continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) assisting others with understanding and applying their duties.
- Foster the development of SHE skills within operations and engineering personnel.
- To ensure consistent implementation of SHE standards.
- Influence and support operational personnel and engineering team to deliver their SHE responsibilities.
- Conduct out of hour's site visits as required by operations.
- Deliver coaching and training on site and at fixed venues where competent to deliver content.
- Co-ordinate and deliver contract level inductions ensuring suitable leadership representation
- Assist with mobilisation of large scale projects including development and delivery of bespoke induction
- Support well-being campaigns and deliver regular and appropriate information briefings on subject matter
- Assist in the identification of SHE related training and competency needs for site based personnel and bring these to the attention of the SHE Manager.
- Deliver and/or coach operations in conducting competency assessments
- Assist operations with investigations of incidents and accidents identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrence
- Take a lead role in the investigation of serious accidents and incidents
- Encourage the reporting of SHE observations through proactive engagement.
Understanding of SHE related legislation and related codes of practice and it's application in construction.
- Experience in SHE practices for large scale construction projects including complex design and MEICA
- Experience of Business Management Systems relevant contract and client procedures
- Ability to conduct audit, identify and address Non Conformance, recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives, co-ordinate to ensure their implementation
- Ability to conduct and inspections.
- Proficient in the use of IT and relevant software required for the role e.g. MS Office
- Training (Knowledge) Required
- NEBOSH Diploma, Relevant degree or equivalent NVQ level qualification
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent
- ISO Internal auditor 9001
Training (Knowledge) Preferred
- Relevant experience with the Water or Utilities Industry
- Relevant industry specific skills training
- Emergency First Aid
- EUSR Water SHEA or CSCS
- EUSR Water Hygiene
