Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Professional to join our team at The Travelers Companies, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading insurance company and contribute to the success of our business.,

  • Manage and handle a diverse portfolio of complex and often large claims arising from our assigned lines of business

  • Provide market-leading expert claim handling, ensuring adherence to our company's policies, procedures, best practices, and controls at all times

  • Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial partners on portfolio, risk mitigation, policy language, and claim trends

  • Partner with Underwriting to sell and market business and strengthen external client relationships

  • Open new claims and set reserves; carry out early, appropriate investigations in respect of policy coverage, liability, and quantum, and provide legal assistance as necessary

  • Fairly and promptly negotiate settlement of claims and communicate promptly on cover

  • Ensure that vendors provide a market-leading, cost-effective service to both insured and the company by continually monitoring their performance, cost, and quality

  • Maintain a close working liaison with underwriters and risk management, and where appropriate, promote the interests of Travelers by working with other business areas

  • Attend to the Insureds and Brokers and promote the values of the department and the company and the services that it provides

  • Work as a team member providing such support as required by other members of the team and fully participate in individual and shared project work, Private Medical Insurance: On commencement of employment, you are eligible for single cover provided by Travelers, with the option to add cover for your dependents, at your expense through payroll deduction

  • Retirement: Travelers will make a core contribution of a percentage of salary to your Pension Plan. Additionally, if you decide to contribute to the plan, you will receive an increased company contribution

  • Holiday Entitlement: Start your career at Travelers with a minimum of 25 days holiday entitlement annually, plus the opportunity to purchase additional days to allow for up to a total of 35 holidays per year

    Significant experience and sound judgment handling claims within assigned line(s) of business

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English

  • Lloyds and/or London market experience preferred

  • Strong technical background and expertise with a proven track record to manage complex claims, key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business, and mitigating risks and exposures

  • Product expertise within the particular lines of business assigned preferred

  • ACII qualification preferred

  • Certificate in London Market Insurance preferred
