Full Job Description
The position of Class 1 Driver involves:
- Delivering to retail stores on curtain side and box trailers on single and double deck trailers.
- Collecting multiple containers from port for delivery to distribution centre.
- Planning route on a day to day basis.
- Complete daily vehicle checks on your company phone.
- Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations.
- Attending regular training sessions.
Essential skills required for Class 1 Driver: - Must have a UK Class 1 (CE) Driving Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Working to deadlines.
- Confident, polite and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Due to the nature of the role applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking and self-motivated.
Various shifts patterns and hours available, days and nights, to help you fit work around your lifestyle! Current Opportunities: - AM/Mornings Class 1 Driver - Basic salary is £38,287pa, based on 48 hours per week. Hours of work are Monday - Friday, from 04:00hrs - 14:00hrs.
- PM/Evenings Class 1 Driver - Basic salary is £42,837pa, (includes shift allowance of £17.50 per shift for any shifts starting between 12:00hrs and 02:00hrs), based on 48 hours per week. Hours of work are Monday - Friday, from 16:00hrs - 02:00hrs.
