Full Job Description
We are currently looking to employ a Class 2 Driver, to provide a driving service for Mason & Pinder Toolmakers (part of Polypipe) transporting tools and heavy machinery across the UK. You are the 'face' of our business, not just our delivery driver. It's all about making a good impression, ensuring tools are delivered in a first-class condition, safely, while completing all necessary paperwork and above all, leaving everyone you meet with a really positive impression of you and our business.,
- Maintain all required qualifications to undertake professional driving role
- Ensure with Transport Manager and Tool room loading team that the machinery loaded is correctly & safely loaded including appropriate weight distribution & security.
- Ensure that on arrival the delivery is safe to make and respect delivery point rules and requirements; if in doubt, consult with customer and/or Transport Manager.
- Check tools off with delivery point and obtain signature and print.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Handle any issues encountered during route and on delivery effectively and contact Transport Manager/Tool Room for assistance if required.
- Carry out deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
- Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
- Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
- Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
- Ensure highest level of safety while undertaking driving duties & completing loading/unloading.
- Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company's accident reporting procedure.
- Ensure constant awareness of vehicle service & mot dates prior to use
- Complete vehicle daily inspection sheet and give to Transport Compliance team.
- Attend essential training in order to carry out the driver role.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.
- Where no tool movements required, driver must undertake any other in-scope duties as requested by the Transport Manager
- Occasional nights out & early starts may be required to facilitate urgent tool movements
Current CPC. - Possess LGV C (Class 2) driving Licence.
- Digital Tachocard and an up-to-date Drivers Qualification Card and have a full understanding of tachograph legislation.
- Excellent verbal communication.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co-Workers.
- Diligent attention to detail.

- Experience of working in a customer facing role.
- Numerate and literate.
Loading and unloading of goods from vehicles. - Stacking of empty pallets.
- Coupling and uncoupling of trailers
