Full Job Description

To provide excellent teaching and learning resulting in good progress and achievement for all pupils To whom the post holder reports: The post holder is responsible to the Headteacher in all matters Duties and responsibilities specific to the post Teaching and Learning:

  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Have a full-time teaching commitment that promotes good progress
  • and outcomes by all pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of a diverse range of pupils' needs
  • To provide quality feedback to pupils
  • Make accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning
  • environment
  • Plan effectively to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs including working with teaching assistants
  • In liaison with the SENDCO, implement, monitor and review effective provision
  • Take appropriate account of ethnic and cultural diversity to enrich
  • the curriculum, secure pupils' engagement and raise achievement
  • Fulfil wider professional responsibilities to make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Resource Management:
  • Organise and maintain a stimulating and purposeful working environment
  • General Duties of all teaching staff: To work within the framework of national legislation and in accordance with the provisions of the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document. In addition, the post is subject to compliance with:
  • School policies and guidelines on the curriculum and school
  • organisation Teachers' Standards SEN Code of Practice
  • National Curriculum 2014
  • Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • School Safeguarding policy and procedures
  • Other Duties:
  • Support the Christian Ethos of the school
  • Attend and lead collective worship as required
  • Supervise playtimes on a rota basis
  • Participate in and lead staff meetings, INSET activities and parent curriculum events
  • Undertake other such duties as can be reasonably expected
