Classroom Support Assistant

We are seeking a Classroom Support Assistant to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our Adult & Community Education Service - OFSTED rated 'good'. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to support our aim to remove barriers to work or learning. What will be expected from me? The successful applicant will have: a good understanding of different learning difficulties and an enthusiasm to enhance the learning experience. The role includes some administrative duties to update learner progress and records. What I might be doing?

• You will provide support to Adult Learners in the classroom in a variety of subjects.
• You will support our Adult Learners in adjusting activities according to their responses/needs and develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with them.
• You will keep up to date records on learner support and progress.
• Attend and participate in regular meetings.
  
  A minimum of NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or Supporting Teaching & learning in schools or equivalent qualification (or be prepared to undertake training within 12 months)
• Maths and English at a minimum of Level 2 (or be prepared to undertake training within 12 months)
• Experience of working with Adult Learners particularly in relation to skills and personal development
• An understanding of the current developments in working with Adult Learners.
  
  This is a part-time post of 18.5 hours per week term time only
