Full Job Description

We currently have a position available for individuals to join the building cleaning team.

We have locations to clean all over the borough including office buildings, theatres and other public venues, communal areas of housing complexes and of course empty housing properties will need cleaning to prepare them for their next tenants.

The work is often quite physical and will include some manual handling duties could include hand sweeping and mopping stairs, cleaning windows and large areas of plate glass, using specialist cleaning machines such as floor buffers, and scrubbing tiles and floors in changing areas.

You will also be emptying waste bins and ensuring waste is disposed of properly, replenishing supplies such as hand soap and paper towels, vacuuming large floor spaces, and dusting skirting boards, door frames and office furniture. One post involves maintaining the cleanliness of the public areas and operational areas of the pavements shopping centre (such as the management suite and staff rest rooms).

The successful candidates will need to be flexible as it is highly likely that your working location and the tasks you are completing will change regularly. This post includes weekend working and bank holidays and start and finish times vary dependant on location as directed by the service.

The 28-hours-per-week vacancy will involve driving council vehicles, so a full driving licence is essential. When applying, please highlight on your cover letter whether or not you have a driving licence.
