Full Job Description
To clean all areas within specified buildings, and their environs, in a safe, efficient manner meeting specified standards of cleanliness. Responsible to: The Deputy Team Manager or the Registered Manager, in their absence the Head of Residential Services and ultimately the Chief Executive Relationships: To establish and maintain good working relationships with all staff and the people we support. Physical Conditions: Work is performed in standing and sitting positions. The work is predominately undertaken indoors. Lifting and carrying is also involved. MAIN TASKS:
- The cleaning of all floors, walls, furniture, fittings, appliances etc. to the methods and frequencies as specified, by the Registered Manager.
- The carrying out of all non-cleaning tasks and resident related duties to the method and frequencies specified by the Registered Manager.
- To report any faults or defects within the fabric of the building, to the Registered Manager or in their absence the Deputy Team Manager in a timely manner.
- To work under the Health and Safety Guidelines and C.O.S.H.H., (The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.) and to store all toxic substances in a safe and appropriate manner.
- To ensure that the domestic equipment is in good order, and to look after same, and report any repair or faults to the Registered Manager.
- To prepare a monthly list of cleaning materials, and submit these to the Registered Manager.
- To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the designated work area and its environs and to observe safe working methods, at all times.
- To ensure the building is secure at the end of the assigned working period.
- Where appropriate, to undertake training, conducive to personal role development.
- To ensure that the clients personal possessions are treated with respect. OTHER: To undertake, in exceptional circumstances, any additional duties, which may from time to time be required by the Chief Executive and in his/her absence, the Director of Operations. A high degree of confidentiality is always expected. At no time will the post holder discuss the individual people we support, their families or other confidential matters connected with Autism Together and its staff, outside of the organisation. Notwithstanding, under our confidential reporting policy you will be required to raise any concerns, particularly those concerns which may be deemed a matter of safeguarding the people we support.
