Full Job Description

A Vacancy at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. To provide a full clerical support to the relevant department ensuring a high standard of clerical/reception duties are maintained and deadlines are met The role of the Clerical Administrator is to provide a full clerical/reception service to support the Pathology Department in processing of daily workloads and ad hoc office duties., · To provide full reception duties for Visitors Reception within Pathology. · Operate an effective bring forward system and filing system. · Make full use of the computer systems and packages available. Ensure all information is updated regularly and take responsibility for reporting any faults, incorrect patient data and breaches in security. · Support with housekeeping of telepath if required. · Respond to telephone enquiries for results from GP surgeries, wards, clinics etc. · To ensure that all reports are sorted and distributed to the relevant bodies through internal and external posting systems in a timely and efficient manner. · To provide cross cover for colleagues as and when required. · Be able to work as part of a team, promote effective flows in the department to cover leave and ensure office runs smoothly. · To be aware of the importance of patient confidentiality at all times. · Assist with audits/research/data collection as required. · Undertake audits as required. · Send out Pathology Paper report daily to stakeholders in a timely manner. · Photocopying/scan and general housekeeping of the office environment. · Assist with collection of clinical data for audit and disseminate information to teams. · Obtain information requested by Administration Services Manager as and when required. · To work in a flexible manner in accordance with Trust Policy. · Work with managers and administrative staff to review working practices, ways of working and find solutions to problems. · Any other duties required by Line Manager., · General office duties including dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, e-mail, scan, photocopying. Participate in housekeeping of the office environment., · Attend appropriate training and education sessions at the request of the manager.
