Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our busy Ultrasound department for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team based at Ipswich Hospital as a Clerical Officer. Working hours will be full time, 37.5 hours per week, to be arranged between 08:00 to 17:00 with an hour lunch. In this role you will assist in providing an efficient, high quality, reception/clerical support service to Obstetrics and Gynaecology team, including booking Obstetrics and Gynaecology appointments. As you will be dealing with patients and the general public, you must have a polite telephone manner and be approachable. You will also need to have the ability to work under pressure to strict dealings with excellent organisational skills. You will work on your own initiative with attention to detail and have confident and accurate IT skills., You will be working as part of a team of staff who:

  • Cover reception duties
  • Deal with referrals and booking patient appointments on the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS)
  • Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, GP's and the wider MDT team
  • Support the Sonographers in the scanning room when required, with duties such as cleaning and chaperoning.

    Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar environment within an NHS setting, and knowledge of the hospital booking systems, Lorenzo and CRIS would be advantageous.
