Full Job Description
Are you interested in a career in law outside of traditional legal practice? If so, a career as a Barristers' Clerk may be for you. This role is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in working in an administrative capacity in the legal sector in a vital role supporting the practice of barristers.
As a barristers clerk, you will be crucial in the effective management and administration of our barristers practices enhancing and developing their careers as well as your own. We're looking for an ambitious and driven candidate to join our team, on the job training will be provided.
This is a fast paced and varied role which will include dealing with enquiries from members of chambers & clients and diary management.,
- Photocopying and printing
- Delivering papers to/from court
- Lodging skeleton arguments and authorities with courts and tribunals
- Researching authorities and collating bundles in both hard copy and electronic format
- Reviewing and actioning emails
- Administration tasks including DX, post and stationery monitoring
- Working as part of the Junior Clerking Team to provide an efficient service to members of chambers
- Dealing with day-to-day enquiries and develop an understanding of the requirements of the role within chambers
Keen to learn with a positive 'can do' attitude - Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually
- Well-presented
