Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Thanet District Council's Housing and Planning team as a Clerk of Works
Thanet District Council has an ambitious prorgramme of new build development and acquisitions. Last year it was agreed that we would purchase or build at least 400 new units. This role specifically supports that project, Working as part of the development team you will be required to inspect quality and progress of construction work against design specifications and/or drawings. You will be responsible for the monitoring of construction programmes, and escalating any issues which arise which could affect completion/handover dates.
You will facilitate the successful completion and handover of compliant properties to the Tenant and Leasehold Department for prompt occupation.
You will manage defects arising during the Defects Liability Period, and will be responsible for liaising with Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Tenant-Customers and to report internally.
To undertake this role you should have an ONC/HNC in Construction or equivalent and substantial multi trade work experience at supervisory level.
To be successful in this role you must have a positive attitude towards customer service issues, be able to work in a demanding environment is essential and be able to deal with tenants, and contractors in difficult situations.
Although his role is based within the Housing development team you must also have the ability to work independently or as part of a team., Disability Confident
