Clerk to Governing Board

Governance professionals have a key role to play in organising and attending meetings, building relationships, recording minutes and providing professional advice to the board. Each governance professional supports two or more school boards, with each governing board usually having six meetings every year. All new governance professionals receive induction training with regular training opportunities and support available throughout the year from the Governor Services Team.

You will be proactive, highly organised and detail oriented, with excellent time management and administrative skills. You will have strong people and relationships skills with the ability to maintain and develop good working relations. You will be supportive of your governors, boards and colleagues as well as understanding the need for respectful challenge both in meetings and in the broader governance context. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a willingness to provide advice and guidance to your governors. Self-development will be a priority for you and through this you will increase your governance knowledge and understanding of regulations and processes. Governance professionals receive pay starting from £15.84 per hour plus holiday pay and many other benefits including;
