Part time job opportunity, working from home and face-to-face meetings at various locations.

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organised professional individual to provide clerking services for initially two schools within the Corinium Education Trust.

    You will work closely with the Chair of the Local Governing Body and our Governance Officer, delivering strong governance arrangements. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and an ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience in clerking or governance isn't essential; you will be fully supported and provided with personalised training from our Governance Officer.

    The role is home-based and allows for flexibility. There is a requirement to attend schools for onsite meetings which occur in the evenings (5.30 or 6.00pm start for around 2 hours).

    The Corinium Education Trust consists of 4 schools, each with their own Local Governing Body:
  • Cirencester Deer Park School

  • Chesterton Primary School

  • Kemble Primary School

  • Siddington C of E Primary School


  • Down Ampney C of E Primary School and Sherborne C of E Primary School will be joining the Corinium Education Trust soon. We are opening a new primary school, The Steadings, in September 2026. As we anticipate further growth, this is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to our expanding Governance team.,
  • Support our Local Governing Bodies, arrange meetings, create agendas, collate papers, attend meetings and prepare accurate minutes;

  • Provide procedural, regulatory, and governance advice to governing bodies at meetings and as and when appropriate;

  • Able to work closely and cooperatively with people, including Chairs, LGB members, and headteachers and their teams;

  • Work effectively to meet deadlines;

  • Understand and adhere to confidentiality and integrity.

  • Remuneration is £27,803-£30,296 (Grade 6) depending on experience (full time equivalent, 37 hours a week). Working hours are 2 hours per school per week, for a total of 38 weeks a year. This equates to an hourly rate (inclusive of holiday pay) of £14.41 - £15.70 per hour.
