Full Job Description

  • Set and implement a defined client plan with specific financial and commercial KPIs for each account with the client relationship partner and deputy client partner

  • Focus on specific strategies for winning transformational work for each client, which is capable of further elevating the firm's reputation in the global market.

  • Own a client feedback strategy, including where appropriate directly seeking feedback from the client, at both a matter and relationship level to identify areas for improvement, successes to build upon and show a commitment to delivering client service excellence

  • Work with the finance team to utilize off the shelf financial performance tools, reports and to produce bespoke management information to meet client panel firm obligations

  • Work closely with secondees within the client on the relationship, as well as on the overall secondment and investment strategy with each client in the portfolio.

  • Develop deep understanding of the clients' business strategies, and anticipate how those will translate into legal needs.

  • Regularly brief the client service teams on the clients' market strategy, and the implications of that strategy in terms of opportunities for our teams.

  • Become a subject matter expert on the financial services sector, and our own practice strengths within the sector.

  • Drive best practice across the client portfolio, and work with the wider client development and other BD teams, in bringing the best of the firm's relationship management approach to that client.

  • Work with our Client Service Excellence team to deliver legal technologies and service excellence practices which increase our efficiency and efficacy in servicing the client.

  • Curate and tailor client-facing knowledge to ensure it is delivered to senior stakeholders within the client relationship, in a way that demonstrates our understanding of their business.

  • Work with the wider BD teams in helping them to understand the needs and business drivers of your clients, and how those needs should inform our key campaign and product development activities.

    Experience within a business development role within professional services and/or the financial services industry.

  • Experience of client relationship management and development in the professional services industry.

  • Ability to work on a global basis, familiar with the different working practices and market drivers across the key global hubs for financial services.

  • A demonstrable commercial mindset, with experience of prioritizing the right activities that deliver value to our business.

    You will need strong information assimilation skills, a high level of written and verbal communication and strong probing/consultative listening skills coupled with the ability to constructively challenge and persuade legal and client personnel.
