Full Job Description

  • Help create and deliver resources and visits for schools and nurseries to support climate education and action plan development.
  • Organise online and in-person events for Climate Ambassadors to promote the programme, build connections, and encourage climate action.
  • Create communications such as social media posts, press releases, and newsletters to spread the word about the project.
  • Maintain records of regional engagement and support data collection and evaluation for reports required by the central team and funders.

    You will be educated to A level/NVQ L3 (or equivalent) and have experience working in educational settings. You should have an interest in sustainability and climate change, and strong project management and communication skills., Disability Confident

    Keele University runs the West Midlands hub for the national Climate Ambassadors programme, which is funded by the Department for Education. This programme works to recruit volunteers from businesses, universities, local councils, and charities to help early years settings, schools, and colleges create and implement Climate Action Plans. The program is led by the University of Reading and EAUC, with 9 hubs across England. These hubs grow the network of volunteers and pair them with schools and nurseries to meet key goals set by the Department for Education, encouraging climate action in education. The post holder will help the Regional Hub Manager engage early years settings, schools, and further education colleges in the programme. You'll help create opportunities for educators to connect, share ideas, and learn from each other. A key focus will be on reaching schools and nurseries that haven't started climate action, making sure the programme is accessible to everyone, especially in underrepresented and disadvantaged areas. You'll build on existing connections and develop new ones to ensure the program reaches as many educational settings as possible across the region.
