Full Job Description

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of Catkin/Community care. The Clinic Manager will supervise and develop junior staff as well as manage a team of nursing staff as part of the Catkin Senior leadership team., In addition to our main hospital site, we offer pediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales and the Isle of Man.

The trust is committed to developing an environment that embraces diversity and promotes a quality of opportunity., 1. To be responsible for the coordination of clinics and nurse staffing allocation according to patient numbers and clinic activity.
2. Manage sickness absence and human resource issues in line with Trust policy.
3. Ensure appropriate clinic management of booked patients in consultant led clinics and make any necessary adjustments in liaison with clinician overseeing the patient's care.
4. Liaise with department colleagues to ensure continuous nursing cover across all areas of the Outpatients
5. To be involved in the recruitment of staff and be responsible for the induction and training of staff.
6. Ensure full staff participation at all Trust mandatory training sessions.
7. Participate in and conduct the PDR process in an effective timely manner.
8. Lead and participate in the development of nursing services as part of the Outpatient leadership team.
9. Participate in phlebotomy bleep holder responsibilities and provide clinical and nursing leadership for the department in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
10. Lead the daily safety huddle.
11. Prioritise attendance at governance and senior leadership team meetings.
1. To promote an effective communication system which ensures that a team approach to the care of children, young people and families is encouraged and adopted.
2. To work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure the needs of the children and families attending the department are met.
3. Manage complaints received on clinic and advise families of the Trust complaints procedure.
4. Maintain patient confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act and NMC guidelines.
5. To ensure the capture and recording of all patent related data, including that required for Meditech. Education, training and professional development.
1. Provide support to new members of staff and students, facilitating supervision and education through preceptorship and mentorship.
2. Identify departmental training needs of staff within area of responsibility, liaising with Learning and Development to ensure training and learning needs are met.
3. Participate in the education and development of junior staff.
4. Work with other Trust departments, teams and leads to develop and implement information packages for training purposes.
5. Carry out the role of link nurse as required, updating information and educating staff.
6. Support the induction of new members of staff.
7. Supervise and teach staff.
8. To actively pursue opportunities for professional development that are focused on improving outpatient care and the care of children, young people and their families.
9. Work towards the development and implementation of clinical competencies and pathways.
10. To continue to develop and expand clinical roles and skills to meet the needs of children and young people attending Outpatients.

An opportunity has arisen in Outpatients for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join our Outpatient Leadership Team, as a band 6 Clinic Manager for the Catkin Centre and Community clinics. This is an exciting time, as we grow our team and expand our services, both in the hospital and community settings.
We are seeking a professional role model who will work in partnership with the outpatients/Catkin leadership team and the wider MDT to assess the need of children and young people and support service delivery and development within outpatients.
This role includes the supervision and management of staff, children, young people and their families including clinical work. The post holder will have experience of working within a busy clinical area, willingness to learn new skills and knowledge and have demonstrable effective communication and leadership qualities.
