Full Job Description

You will be responsible for taking the lead for developing and maintaining high quality administration processes. The CAL will support the delivery of local and national access targets across every stage of the patient journey., The role of the CAL is to support the delivery of access targets, cancer targets and be responsible for data quality within a speciality area. The CAL will manage the Clinical Administration Team for the speciality area. Day to day line management and professional supervision to a defined Inpatient Booking Team and Team Co-ordinators for Medical Secretaries will be required, ensuring best practice and adherence to Trust policies and procedures is maintained at all times.

You must have recent experience working in a Band 4 Administration Team Lead role, or equivalent, and substantial NHS experience working in a booking/secretarial/waiting list management role, with sound knowledge of RTT and cancer waiting times, and supervision/management experience.

You will have strong prioritising and excellent organisational skills together with the ability to remain calm and collected in a busy and dynamic environment. With strong communication and interpersonal skills you will have the ability to formulate and implement solutions. You will be accountable for management of the waiting lists within your speciality area.

You will be self-motivated, adaptable, have excellent time management and a willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges. The work is varied, challenging and fast paced, requiring a flexible approach, initiative and the ability to motivate and inspire others. The Trust will provide a supportive work environment where shared and professional development is encouraged.

This is a full time post, working 37.5 hours per week.
