Full Job Description

The newly formed Urgent Treatment Centre at BNHH will register an average of 700 patients per week. The department is open 16 hours a day, from 0800-0000, 365 days per year. In accordance with DOH guidelines, all patients attending the department should be seen, treated and discharged or admitted within 4 hours of arrival., You will be responsible for greeting all patients that attend the UTC ensuring they are registered in a prompt and professional manner. You will provide administrative support to the nursing and clinical staff on duty, ensuring that clinical coding is correct, arriving pre-booked appointments, photocopying and scanning all attendance information and will portray a professional image at all times. These positions work 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays.

  • The ability to work in a busy, challenging department managing difficult situations as they arise.
  • Flexibility to adapt to an ever changing work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with a number of internal and external agencies, such as Mental Health teams, Police, 111 Services, Social Services etc.
