Full Job Description

The role of a Clinical Advisor is to support West Yorkshire senior managers (including Medical Director, Director of Nursing and Director of Corporate Affairs) to provide clinical advice in complaints in Primary care in respects to the delivery of ICB/ NHS England statutory and non statutory and regulatory functions.

Support to the ICB Director for Corporate Affairs and the complaints team which will include providing expert clinical advice relating to quality and safety of services in line with the ICB requirements for Primary care.

Work with the Director of Corporate Affairs to support and identify key themes and trends from complaints, and areas of learning.

Main duties of the job

The role will support ICB senior managers to provide clinical advice in respects to complaints in primary care in the delivery of ICB/ NHS England statutory and non-statutory and regulatory functions by:

Support the ICB Director of Corporate Affairs and the complaints team which will include providing expert clinical advice relating to quality and safety of services in line with the ICB requirements for Primary care

Respond to concerns and issues around inclusion on the NHS England Performer list and working alongside the NHSE Performance team as required

Support practices and individual practitioners in considering and developing their practice to deliver best practice, particularly in respect of investigating and advising after complaints regarding individuals included on the NHS Performer lists

Build positive working relationships with practitioners, the Local representative Committees and relevant stakeholders including the primary care teams in West Yorkshire ICB and NHS England to support the management of complaints

Provide expert clinical advice to members of the West Yorkshire complaints team and where necessary the NHSE professional standards team and be accountable and responsible to the Medical Director of West Yorkshire ICB or their deputy

Ensure liaison with other agencies involved in quality monitoring and assurance including CQC, GDC, and providers where appropriate.

Identify key themes and trends from complaints, and areas of learning

We are ideally looking for two professionals to undertake 1 session each to support our Complaints Team with this work so that we have a wider breadth of experience when looking into the complexities of some of the complaints that we receive. We will however consider applications for both sessions but it would be helpful to state your preference in your application.

£70 an hour Currently under a Clinical Leadership Model review
