Full Job Description

The ideal candidate will have previousexperience Be responsible for the clinical codingof relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare record usingEMIS software. To adhere to the practices codingpolicy. Support our multidisciplinary team,providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of thepractice. Summarise medical records. You will also be involved in monthlysafeguarding meetings and coding updates. Computer data entry / data allocation andcollation; processing and recording information in accordance with practiceprocedures About us Our Practice family consists of 7 Gp's, GP Registrars, 1 ANP, NursePrescribers, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Community Paramedic, and HCA's. Ouradministrative team - 20 receptionists which includes a head receptionist ateach location, 3 clinical coders, one scanner, data quality lead, 2 deputy PracticeManagers, Office Manager and Practice Manager. The Health and Well Being of ourstaff matters immensely to us, so have recently appointed a Health andWell-being lead and Champion. We are an innovative practice that delivers allnational and local enhanced services and offer an abundance or trainingopportunities. We have a whole practice study day every month where the wholeof our team gets involved, Job Summary : Thepurpose of the role is to : Beresponsible for the clinical coding of relevant information into the patientselectronic healthcare record using EMIS software. Toadhere to the practices coding policy. Supportour multidisciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in linewith the needs of the practice. Summarisemedical records. Duties andResponsibilities : Theduties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the clinical codingteam may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time underthe direction of the Management team

  • Scanning of any clinical letters received from all external organisations and filing all electronically received mail into patient records and to be coded in accordance with practice policy.
  • Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions.
  • Input and extract data as required to support practice reports.
  • File and store records as required.
  • Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary.
  • Carry out system searches as requested and conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise.
  • To attend regular coder meetings for updates and sharing of information.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
  • Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.
