Full Job Description

This exciting role will involve working with a degree of autonomy alongside providing the opportunity to develop both your therapy and neuropsychology skills. You will conduct detailed assessment and formulation, therapeutic intervention and neuropsychological assessments, covering both functional and organic problems for people living in the local community.

You will be working collaboratively with members of a well-established multi-disciplinary team, where psychology is highly valued in the team. A key part of this role will be using clinical leadership skills to influence teams in embedding psychosocial approaches within everyday practice. You will also be supporting and supervising other team members.

There will be opportunities to lead on quality improvement projects and to contribute to the development of psychology provision across older people's services. We support the undertaking of leadership and supervisor training to enable you to develop your skills and progress in your role.

The opportunities in this role would suit both experienced Clinical Psychologists interested in continuing working with older people, as well as newly qualified Clinical Psychologists or those due to qualify in September 2024.

Please note, this is a part-time, job share role for 18.75 hours per week (2.5 days per week).

We are looking for a qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team providing high quality community services to older people within Surrey Heath. The Surrey Heath CMHTOP is part of the Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust, with the base at Theta, Frimley. We work with those over 65-years who are faced with mental health and/or memory problems.

Our Psychology department recognise the importance of support, have regular CPD sessions, and externally provided skills workshops (e.g. CAT, CFT). There is access to specialist neuropsychology supervision monthly in addition to regular clinical supervision, management supervision, and peer support. Our Trust is a pilot site for the Transformation agenda opening up further opportunities to train and develop skills allied to expanding and developing services and specialisms. Our department has expanded rapidly in the past few years allowing for further opportunities to take forward clinician interests.
