Full Job Description

  • To provide specialist psychological and psychosexual assessments of clients referred to the psychology service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including self-report measures, rating scales and semi-structured interviews with clients and others involved in their care.
  • To formulate and implement treatment and/or management plans of clients' psychological and psychosexual difficulties, employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
  • To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals and couples, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon evidence-based psychological models and approaches.
  • To provide specialist advice and consultation and supervision to psychology and MDT colleagues and other people involved in client's care, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Part of the role may include staff support, providing debriefs and regular reflective practice to teams, as well as MDT teaching.
  • To contribute to routine data collection, audit and evaluation of patient measures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development.
  • To maintain relevant professional registration and individual Accreditation. To comply with HCPC, UKCP, BPC and other relevant professional Accreditation bodies' Codes of Practice.

    The role offers a broad range of opportunities including the provision of individual and group therapy to people experiencing sexual health related difficulties, supervision and consultation to MDT colleagues, teaching, as well as service development.The role would suit psychologists who are passionate about supporting people who have experienced social and political marginalisation. It provides opportunities to work critically and systemically with themes including the impact of social stigma and intersectional identities.
    • The successful candidate/s will be joining a team of experienced psychologists, passionate about delivering high quality and innovative HIV and sexual health services. The team was shortlisted for Team of the Year at CNWL's Therapies Awards in 2023. The successful candidates will be supported in their professional development with access to high quality CPD from CNWL 's psychological workforce development. The post holders will receive clinical supervision from an experienced senior psychologist and line management from the lead psychologist., Working as a qualified psychologist in CNWL CNWL is responsible for the provision of primary and secondary mental health care, as well as specialist services in addictions, sexual health, prisons, intellectual disabilities, perinatal mental health, acute wards and physical health to diverse populations across London, Milton Keynes and Surrey.
