Full Job Description

You will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological input across three main areas:
+ Autism assessment
+ Highly specialist advice, support and intervention to CYP with a diagnosis of autism
+ Highly specialist advice, support and intervention to young people (19-25) with an existing diagnosis of autism and an Education & Health Care Plan.
Consultation, supervision, training, leadership and service development skills will also be essential elements of the post. This post has strong professional links through the Professional Lead for Psychological Services in the Children and Families Care Group, in addition to a number and range of Clinical and Counselling Psychology posts in the CYP Autism team.
We are positive about supporting staff and will ensure you receive the training you need, along with providing regular clinical and management supervision. You will also have the benefit of working in a highly motivated and supportive team., The Clinical /Counselling Psychologist will provide highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions in the Children & Young People's Autism Service. This role will deliver a service across the South Staffordshire area. This role will involve highly complex assessments leading to psychological formulations, development of care plans, the delivery of interventions to this population and use of outcome measures to evaluate service effectiveness.
To provide highly specialist diagnostic assessments of children and young people to include standardised assessments such as ADOS 2 and ADI-R.
To work as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). The psychologist will present complex assessment information in MDT meetings and work with colleagues in MDT to agree whether referred children and young people meet diagnostic criteria for autism.
To provide a range of highly specialised post-diagnostic intervention services. This will include direct work with children and young people, group based interventions for children and young people and/or their carers, consultation and training for carers and professionals, and development of a range of information resources.
To provide highly specialist psychological input to the CYP Autism Service. The role will include supervision of psychology staff (e.g. less experienced psychologists, Assistant Psychologists).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and skilled HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join the Children & Young People's Autism Service: a multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention service. We are looking for someone who has experience of working as a qualified psychologist in autism, neurodevelopmental or learning disability services and has a passion for delivering and developing psychologically informed provision for individuals with autism.
