An exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified candidate has arisen in the South West Hampshire pain management service within Hampshire and IOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking to recruit an experienced clinical, counselling or health psychologist to be a key member of the South West Hampshire multidisciplinary pain management service. The team comprises a Consultant in Pain Medicine, a GP with Special Interest, three Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and Psychology. We are an experienced, well-established service working closely with local GP Practices, the acute Trust and MSK Services including Orthopaedic Choice. The primary focus of the service is on the self-management of chronic pain, working within a biopsychosocial model of pain which recognises a role for medical interventions and medications. Members of the multidisciplinary team have received training in CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing.
Open only to applicants employed by Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.
The successful applicant will be a qualified and experienced clinical, counselling or health psychologist with specialist experience of working in chronic pain management or a relevant physical health field. You will possess the qualities and skills to work effectively within a close-knit team of health professionals to provide holistic care to patients presenting with a range of chronic pain conditions. The post holder will provide direct assessment and psychological interventions as well as specialist psychological guidance, supervision and support to members of the multidisciplinary team.
The successful applicant will be based at Romsey Hospital but would need to be flexible and be able to support clinics in other locations from time to time. A Car Driver is essential.
