Full Job Description

The purpose of the psychologist/ CBT Therapist role is to:
· Provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention for early detection and early intervention, including CBT for psychosis and family interventions
· Be involved in quality improvement, service development, evaluation and research
· To develop and support the psychosocial work of other staff through teaching, training, supervision and consultation
· Work across both community and inpatient settings, providing psychological input to THEIS service users on inpatient wards

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated HCPC - registered clinical/counselling Psychologist or BAPCP-registered CBT Therapist, with experience in delivering CBT for Psychosis, to work within the Tower Hamlets Early Intervention (THEIS) and Tower Hamlets Early Detection (THEDS) services., The post holders will be required to the work closely with the THEIS Operational lead, Principal Psychologist and Clinical Leads across the teams. You will need to be self-motivated, clinically up to date with advances in the field, with proven experience of undertaking assessments and interventions in secondary care settings.
You must be keen to embrace the privileges of working in a diverse borough, have experience of working with people with complex mental health difficulties and from a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, as well as working in partnership with staff teams, experts by experience, and community organisations.

We provide a range of psychosocial interventions working within the care programme approach framework in collaboration with service users, carers and other relevant agencies. The interventions are offered in individual, group and family contexts, and commonly require an assertive outreach approach. THEDS is for service users aged 17 - 30 at high risk of developing psychosis. The psychology team works flexibly across THEIS and THEDS, and across community and inpatient settings.
Early intervention for psychosis services aim to reduce the prevalence and impact of schizophrenia by reducing the duration of untreated psychosis and engaging clients in training and work as well as offering support and psychological interventions. This means working with service users and carers, their families and the wider community to help them lead purposeful lives among people who accept them, breaking down the barriers of stigma that often accompany mental health problems and lead to social isolation., Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our Community
We provide a wide range of community health and mental health inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, and older adults in The City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton. We also provide psychological therapy services to the London Borough of Richmond, and provide Forensic services to the whole of North East London. We provide services in urban and rural settings, sometimes in our inpatient units, but mostly in the community close to where people live. Integrated care is key in making the best use of resources and providing effective care.
