Full Job Description
There are over 10 care homes centres, each with its own distinctive personality. The homes provide a wide spectrum of services, according to location, including nursing care, care at the end of life, intermediate care (rehabilitation services), specialist dementia care, residential care, and respite care.
Details of the role:
Reporting to the Home Manager, supporting them in carrying out the full duties of the post. The key focus of the role will require you to:
Work as a Deputy Manager or Supporting Manager in the service for specific periods of time according to the needs of the home.
Provide temporary relief in the absence of the manager in a Home, carrying out the full duties of the post.
Carry out specific projects within a service, or more generally for the organisation, as specified by the Chief Operating Officer/Head of Care Services.
Work closely with the Care & Nursing Team, relatives, and other agencies to ensure person-centred care plans are in place that put the individual at the centre of all interactions, ensuring dignity and respect are always maintained.
Carry out duties in accordance with NMC guidelines, leading the Care & Nursing Team on shift and providing clinical leadership, practice development, feedback, and reflection to Registered Nurses and Care Assistants as well as new and developing members of staff.
Post qualification experience as an RGN/RMN and currently registered with NMC.
Previous managerial experience of leading a care team in the care of older people, or related social care setting.
Have evidence of continuing professional development.
Have a working knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to Care Homes.
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrate the ability to lead, support and motivate a dedicated care team.
The ability to take responsibility for the safeguarding of older people.
Commitment to the ongoing training and development of your team.
You must be able to travel between Care Homes
