Full Job Description

The Transplant Unit in Cambridge performs over 300 organ transplants a year. It is unique in the UK as the only centre to perform Adult Kidney, Liver, Pancreas and Multiviseral Transplants. It is also one of the National Organ retrieval centres., As a Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior) you will be expected to lead the organ retrieval team, the Cambridge National Organ Retrieval Service (NORS) team which consists of a Senior Surgeon (usually a Senior Trainee or Trust Fellow), a Junior Assistant (typically at CT level), and a Scrub Nurse.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of commencement is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
