Full Job Description

Liverpool Women's Hospital is offering a fixed term post (LAS CT2 /ST3 level and above) for an initial period of 6 months. The department provides anaesthesia for Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Gynae oncology for both elective and emergency patients., It is expected that the trainee will work flexibly under the direction of theAnaesthesia and Theatres Directorate to provide anaesthetic services.Initially, all lists are under close supervision of a Consultant Anaesthetist, and depending on previous experience and competencies, the successful candidate will be expected to work unaccompanied. The work on delivery suite encompasses elective and emergency obstetric anaesthesia in supporting the busy unit.

There is a Full Shift pattern rota for the department. The successful candidate will be expected in the normal run of his/her duties and within the contract and job description, to cover for the occasional brief absences of a colleague as far as is practical. An EWTD compliant full shift rota is in place at a banding of 1A. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake emergency on-call, including attendance at cardiac arrest calls.
