Full Job Description
The successful candidate will provide a service commitment to heart and lung retrieval and implantation, recipient assessment, as well as pre and post-operative care of transplant recipients. Experience in cardiopulmonary organ transplantation, ECMO, VAD implantation, machine perfusion technology will be gained and there will be an opportunity to attend operating lists in cardiac surgery.
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team as a Trust Fellow in Cardiopulmonary Transplantation. These posts are available as soon as possible for 12 months in the first instance, with a possible extension.
The successful candidate will provide a service commitment to heart and lung retrieval and implantation, recipient assessment, as well as pre and post-operative care of transplant recipients. Experience in cardiopulmonary organ transplantation, ECMO, VAD implantation, machine perfusion technology will be gained and there will be an opportunity to attend operating lists in cardiac surgery. There are opportunities for exploring research.
Candidates for the post must be registered medical practitioners and hold a license to practice with the GMC. You must also hold MRCS or equivalent and have at least 18 months experience in cardiothoracic surgery.
Candidates may also have commitment to the conventional adult cardiothoracic surgery programme depending on the service requirements and departmental needs.
