Full Job Description

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well integrated team.

This post is to commence February 2025 until August 2025. Candidates must hold full GMC registration at time of application.

The post is appropriate for doctors with an interest in a medical, surgical (trauma and orthopaedics) or general practice career due to the range of patient presentations and problems seen on the trauma rehabilitation unit. The candidate will be responsible for the day to day care of patients in the unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team in a ward-based role covering the 10 bedded Major Trauma Rehabilitation Unit and have some insight into long term conditions and medical issues in the rehabilitation setting. They will have the capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge of physical and mental health relevant to the post. There is no on-call commitment., The successful candidate will provide ward-based medical care with Consultant supervision for patients of the Major Trauma Rehabilitation Service (MTRS), focusing on the Major Trauma Rehabilitation Unit (MTRU).

MTRU is a 10 bedded impatient unit which opened in November 2017 to provide multidisciplinary specialist rehabilitation to patients after major trauma. It is one part of the RVI MTRS, which is designed to provide very early (from critical care onwards) rehabilitation assessment and also post-discharge specialist rehabilitation care for patients who have accessed the inpatient service.
