Are you qualified and experienced Senior Healthcare Support Worker (SHCSW) looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to work Monday to Friday 8-6, no weekends or nights, with occasional work across Bank Holidays?

Working as a SHCSW at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC), you will care for and deliver treatments to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders.

We have a few vacancies for enthusiastic experienced Band 3 SHCSW in the following areas :

BHOC outpatients

You will be supporting patients in the outpatient department at BHOC. We run a daily Phlebotomy clinic for our Oncology and Haematology patients, deliver regular line care and blood tests to our patients.

Chemotherapy day unit at BHOC and satellite sites

The SHCSW is responsible for providing care and therapy to patients, supporting the nursing staff in delivering hands on care to patients undergoing this wide range of treatments.

The post holder will rotate between the Chemotherapy Day Unit at BHOC and at the Satellite sites at South Bristol Community Hospital and / or Concorde Medical Centre.

Whilst you need to be an experienced HCSW, full training is provided in specialist skills such as PICC line care and phlebotomy.

Working in BHOC is demanding and can be challenging and we are fortunate to have access to a comprehensive staff wellbeing support

A SHCSW will be expected to undertake a range of duties under the direction of and will be required to report back on those delegated duties to a Registered Nurse.

This element role requires basic IT skills, problem-solving and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Practice safe standards or care following UHBristol and Weston guidelines and policies within the scope of the SHCSW Role.
