Full Job Description

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow to join the Department of Paediatric Neurology (Neurorehabilitation) at Birmingham Children's Hospital. There is 1 full time post available equivalent to ST5 + level commencing as soon as possible for 12 months in the first instance. The post will be suitable for a paediatrician aiming to get post CCT experience in specialist paediatric neurorehabilitation and tertiary neurology. It would also be suitable for someone aiming to obtain out of programme experience in preparation for paediatric neurology, neurodisability or community paediatric GRID training, This full-time post is intended to support the current clinical work of the neurorehabilitation service with some cross cover with the acute neurology service. The postholder will predominantly be involved in all aspects of acquired brain injury rehabilitation, including up to two weekly MDT ward rounds in neurorehabilitation, one out patient neurorehabilitation clinic, contributing to and leading the weekly multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation ward round meeting and patient multidisciplinary meetings. The postholder will also contribute to the care of the in-patient/ out-patient caseload in neurology to support the existing complement of postgraduate doctors. There will be time available to maintain CPD and opportunities to develop an area of particular interest.
