Full Job Description

This is an exciting new opportunity within Respiratory Medicine to develop an interest in Lung Cancer and the future development of this Service. You will play a pivotal role in the Cancer MDT and 2ww Clinic with a view to being a key member in the further development of our Pleural service

There will be flexibility in the role for the post holder to develop their own interests in this area.

The role includes the contribution to the teaching and training of staff and students in the medical department. The Department has a teaching programme for the junior Doctors and medical students. Working alongside the college tutor, undergraduate lead and lead nurses to develop training and introduce new innovations., Barnsley Respiratory Team has excellent training for Chest Ultrasound and Pleural procedures training. The Trust holds a US and Chest Drain courses at least twice a year. There is designated Pleural clinics twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) Pleural US and procedures are done on daily basis in the ward and hence ample opportunity to learn. We aim to get the trainee experience in US and pleural procedures working towards a sign off going forward.
