Full Job Description

The successful applicant will attend the weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting, out-patient clinics, therapeutic endoscopy and theatre sessions, and take part in the General Surgery SpR on-call rota. There will specifically be opportunities to undertake training in radical robotic OG cancer surgery in three dedicated three session robotic lists per week. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in audits arranged by the firms and will have the opportunity to undertake research and teaching for undergraduate students., The responsibilities of the Clinical Fellow are to support the delivery of high quality care for patients with oesophago-gastric cancer, along with benign and emergency upper GI surgery.
The oesophago-gastric unit is well supported with two SpRs, two SHOs and two F1s. There are five upper GI clinical nurse specialists, five dedicated OG dieticians, and an excellent anaesthetic/intensive care support. The Trust offers full step down care for major resections and emergency cases where required.
