Full Job Description

Suitable for those at ST3 level or above i.e. Junior or Senior Middle grade as well as for those currently in Training seeking an OOP for experience in clinical research or education (PGCert Education). Role to commence from October 2024. Based at St. Richard's Hospital in Chichester., To gain experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology and enhance knowledge and skills appropriate for middle grade training standard.

To have the opportunity to develop an interest in medical education or clinical research during this post

Opportunity to take the PGCert in medical education or supported time to develop a research proposal for possible grant application

Improve and refine skills in operative gynaecology

Participation in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement

Candidates will need skills in communication, service delivery and improvement, people management and development.

On Call Commitment: 1:8 with a combination of week and weekend long days and weekend nights.

The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreed between the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis.
