Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow to support the Vascular service at the Bradford Arterial Centre, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

The post aims to provide further experience of working at a middle grade/registrar level in the acute setting in Vascular Surgery and the treatment of acute surgical patients. The post will suit and individual who needs to develop more experience and portfolio in the specialty and offers an opportunity to enhance access to higher surgical training.

The post will be based at the arterial centre in Bradford which also provides inpatient care for patients from Calderdale, Kirklees, Airedale and Craven There are 9 Consultant Vascular Surgeons and a dedicated vascular ward (Ward 26). The post holder will be an integral part of this team and be able to gain experience of planned and unplanned admissions for a population of over 1 million. The role will incorporate outpatient clinics, local anaesthetic treatment clinics and our operating theatres. The department has an active research profile and a strong teaching record the successful applicants will be encouraged to partake in research, QIP/audit and teaching as well as educational opportunities., The duties will be flexible and include:

  • 1-2 Theatres per week

  • 1-2 Out-patient clinics per week

  • 1 MDT

  • 0800-2000 daytime acute shift covering ward round, ward, vascular acute referrals and work with the Consultant of the week and weekends on-call (non-resident).


  • There will be an opportunity to develop skills in endovenous treatments, vascular access surgery, service improve, research, teaching and/or leadership.
