Full Job Description

Within the Cardiothoracic Board there is an exciting opportunity to join our established team to work alongside clinical and administrative colleagues to promote quality, patient safety and create a culture of openness and shared learning. We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual who has experience in clinical practice with a good knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management, incident investigation, audit and quality improvement.

Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy., You will work as part of the team providing clinical leadership experience and excellent interpersonal skills to support the delivery of our clinical board quality and safety strategy. This role works closely with the Medical Quality and Safety Lead and Head of Nursing in collaboration with key stakeholders across the board and wider trust facilitating the delivery of the overarching patient safety incident framework supporting high quality patient care.
  • This role will incorporate fostering a safety culture through quality improvement methods such as risk management, audit and quality initiatives through QI methodologies and patient safety principles using well established communication skills and credibility. There is a requirement for the interpretation of data and the production of written work being delivered within set timescales and to a high standard. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, be flexible and adaptable whilst acting as an ambassador for patient safety and high-quality patient care. This role supports the multi-professional team in enhancing quality and improving the patient experience. The Cardiothoracic Board is based across the RVI and Freeman Hospitals with quality and safety teams covering cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, transplantation, respiratory, critical care, coronary care, theatres, cath labs, PICU, inpatient adult and paediatric wards, outpatient clinics, lung function and physiology.
