Clinical / Health / Counselling Psychologist

30 hours: 4 Days split between 2 days working in Diabetes at Queens Hospital Burton (QHB) and 2 days in General Paediatrics at RDH. An additional day in General Paediatrics (7.5 hours) are available to make this a full-time post if desired. The Paediatric Clinical Psychology Team include psychologists with special interests in the care of children and families with health/medical conditions. We have specialist input into neonatal, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and children's continuing care and wider input into general paediatrics. The team have interests in a range of therapeutic models relevant to the service and encourage ongoing individual and team development. We have good links with local DClinPsy courses and regularly have Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement. To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation to children and families. To provide teaching, training, consultation and supervision as required. To contribute to service development and ensure the service is psychologically informed. To build strong working relationships with AHP, medical and nursing colleagues within the service and wider partner agencies. To offer placements to Psychologists in training. To link in with regional and national groups for psychologists in paediatrics and diabetes care.
