Full Job Description
TheSafeguarding Families Together team (SFT) are now expanding into North Dorset and PED. We are looking for a Clinical Lead to help shape and direct the team on a 12 -month fixed term/secondment opportunity.The model brings together key skilled professionals to support adults in the family with their needs including mental health, by working in a wraparound effect with otherdifferent services. The aim is to reducethe number of children who are takeninto care where safe to do so.
You will lead the Mental Health team using an MDT approach to improve health and educational outcomes for the children and reduce physical and emotional harm in families. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and line management to staff that are seconded from the Steps to Wellbeing service into SFT. This post will carry considerable responsibility in ensuring that national guidelines are adhered to, performance targets are achieved, and robust clinical governance arrangements are in place.
Fostering excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders covering North Dorset and PED, you will also work alongside the existing SFT Clinical Lead in Dorchester and Weymouth. You will line manage the two other members of the team and hold a reduced case load.
The Clinical Lead post is a part time 12 -month fixed term/secondment role of 22.5 hours., This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
Our approach is to support families using a technique of motivational interviewing which is designed to empower and engage parents to make the positive changes needed to achieve improved outcomes for their children and their own wellbeing.By meeting the complex needs of the adults, we can reduce the risk to children.
The SFT teams are made up of social care practitioners and adult specialists to work with parents in relation to domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse.
TheSFT Teams will include a range of specialists who will work alongside our Social Workers and Child and Family Workersand all attendgroup-based MDTsupervision.
