Acorns Children's Hospice are now looking for a Clinical Lead to support the Hospice Matron with supervision and development of the hospice team, assess care needs and develop programmes of care About the Role At Acorns Childrens Hospice we offer specialist palliative care and support for children and their families across the West Midlands. We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home. As Clinical Lead, you will

  • Manage and co-ordinate the clinical area, participating in direct patient care
  • Be responsible for the day to day effective and efficient management of nursing and support staff
  • Take a lead role in clinical development
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and complaints in consultation with the Matron
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new initiatives
  • Act up for the Matron in their absence, As a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting organisation, we are committed to ensuring that the United Nations Convention for the Rights of the Child is embedded into both culture and practice within the organisation. As an employee you will be a Duty Bearer for Childrens Rights and support all children to be Rights Holders.

    Registered healthcare professional
  • Non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake)
  • Experience of using evidence based practice to influence clinical updates
  • Sound understanding of clincial skills including IV therapy, patient assessment and airway management

    £37,000 to £47,000 per annum
  • 37.5hours per week
  • Based in Acorns in Birmingham Hospice, B29 5HZ
