Clinical Team Leader Location: Ipswich Salary: A£18.81 to A£21.85 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Why Join This Team? About the Role The Clinical Team Leader will manage a team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants, ensuring the effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of high standards of holistic care for a designated group of service users. This role involves overseeing performance management for all clinical staff in line with the organization's policies and procedures for recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisal, and discipline. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the nursing team in enhancing the quality of care, offering guidance and support to colleagues and relatives. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure safe practice standards are maintained.
- Take responsibility for a service user group, working closely with the multidisciplinary team, service users, and their families or carers to manage care delivery. Assess the impact of policy on care.
- In collaboration with the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager, assess potential service users and coordinate with health and social services commissioners. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
- Ensure accurate, contemporaneous, and complete records of service user interactions, consistent with legal and procedural requirements.
- Ensure all clinical staff receive formal and documented supervision, promoting the highest clinical standards and monitoring competencies.
- Identify staff training needs and provide support for ongoing development. Foster a learning environment and encourage the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
- Provide education to patients, carers, families, and colleagues. Offer formal and informal teaching and act as a mentor to students, assessing competence when required and as qualified.
- Act in accordance with all the organization's policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment and confidentiality. Occasionally take on additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth service operations. About You The ideal candidate will have:
- Registered Nurse qualification or degree-level qualification.
- Experience in specialist palliative or neurological care, depending on service requirements.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of current legislation in the independent care sector.
- Demonstrable experience of practicing in a self-directed and highly motivated way.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver difficult messages sensitively.
- Negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Effective change management and performance management abilities.
