Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity is now available in Newport, South Wales to work within our Specialist Neuropsychiatric service as a Band 8a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Neuropsychiatry.

You will work in partnership with clinical and operational leaders and a broad range of stakeholders from across the local system to ensure we continue to provide a high-quality service.

You will work collaboratively to ensure the service meets the local and national standards, drive for quality and improvement, and keep patients at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for someone with a passion for patient centred care and quality improvement with an established track record for delivering performance standards through compassionate leadership., The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for and application of clinical care and interventions that enhance quality, improve service delivery, and have positive experience outcomes for patients, carers and staff in partnership with the Quality Lead for Hospitals and under the direction of the Hospital Direction.

The role is predominantly concerned with ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient centred care within key quality domains. It combines clinical expertise, leadership and education / research skills with management and professional responsibilities.

You will focus on supporting effective practical leadership in service area and promoting a culture of high performance and clinical excellence.

You must be adept at prioritising the activities, under the direction of the Hospital Director, that will provide the most efficient, effective and safe pathway and escalate any concerns that will prevent this from happening.

You will be responsible for the support and monitoring of the assigned care pathway quality and improvement plans.

You will work in partnership with the Unit Managers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, as well as coordination of quality improvement initiatives, clinical audit and NICE guidelines.

We are looking for someone with experience in overseeing nursing interventions for people with complex behavioural, personal care and medical needs.
