Do you work in the Custody environment? looking for your next career move? South Wales are looking for a Clinical lead to support the contract manager and the team of seniors and Healthcare professionals working across the custody suites in Dyfed Powys Wales.

Role Objectives and Responsibilities:

-Responsible for ensuring that all clinical services are delivered to the required standards of clinical care across the contract

-Working closely with the Medical Director and Contract & Partnership Managers to provide clinical leadership, supporting the process of effective clinical governance and related procedures to ensure compliance with relevant national guidance and specific contractual requirements

-The Clinical Lead will commit to full participation in the consultant on call rota

-Accountable to the Medical Director on all clinical matters

Accountable to the Contract & Partnership Manager on all operational and people management matters.

An experienced Forensic Clinician with extensive clinical forensic experience over several years

-Level 6 Qualification, or accredited to level 6 from relevant experience: g. Degree Apprenticeship, Degree (BA / BSc), Graduate level Certificates, Diploma or Awards. NVQ Level 6 in an appropriate discipline.

-Has full membership of the NMC/HCPC with no restrictions on practice

-Possesses an appropriate Forensic Medical post-graduate qualification: E.g. A Level 7 (Masters, Diploma or Certificate at Level 7) or above qualification relevant to forensic healthcare. E.g. The Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine (FFLM)

-Has been continuously resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years. (This is a police vetting requirement)

-Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing and able to travel to locations across the contract region whenever required, and to other locations across the UK from time to time

-Excellent communicator with a high standard of verbal and written English Language skills

-Demonstrates skills in people management, leadership and managing change

-Experience of expert witness work would be an advantage.

Desirable

-Experience in clinical training, education and assessment (appraisal) of others an advantage

-Experience of expert witness work

-Research and publication skills with demonstrable evidence of articles published.
