We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated clinician who is enthusiastic about driving the leadership and service development of the Enhanced Mental Health Liaison Service. We are searching for a highly motivated, suitably qualified, and experienced Psychiatric Liaison Nurse who is proactive and can showcase exceptional clinical skills. This position is available for qualified Registered Nurses passionate about making a difference in mental health care.

The Psychiatric Liaison Service at King George Hospital is a cornerstone of the acute hospital setting, playing a crucial role in providing in-depth mental health nursing assessment and intervention within the general hospital. Nurses working within the realm of liaison psychiatry employ sophisticated consultation, liaison, and collaborative skills to deliver a service that extends far beyond traditional professional, departmental, and organizational boundaries.,

  • The individual in this pivotal role will be tasked with upholding the highest standards of care, ensuring that all clinical activities within the service adhere to national clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices. They will bear professional and legal accountability for their actions. Furthermore, they are expected to actively and consistently contribute to fostering a culture that embodies the Trust's values within their team, department, and the wider organization.

  • As an NMC registered nurse, you will assume a leadership role in the Psychiatric Liaison Service, providing crucial clinical guidance.

  • As the individual taking on this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that all referrals to the team undergo thorough assessment, appropriate management, and timely discharge.

    This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735 p.a. pro rata for part time).
