Supporting the Registered Home Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of our Reconnect Unit within the home, you will actively contribute to assessments, care reviews and act as a point of contact for the team, your residents and their families.

This is a managerial role, supervising and monitoring the team within the home, and therefore demonstrating leadership qualities, effective communication skills and the possession of positive interpersonal skills are essential. These skills are also required to develop good relationships within the multidisciplinary teams, along with regular liaison with residents, relatives, and prospective employees, in addition to influencing and supporting the development of the nursing and care teams.

About the role

Provide clinical leadership to nurses in the implementation of a total nursing provision and supporting the nursing team to provide leadership to the wider care team to ensure the development and implementation of best practice.

Provide support, advice and guidance to the nursing and care teams.

Act in advisory capacity to nurses pertaining to quality and safety.

Identify sources of specialist support and expertise.

Act as advisor regarding clinical issues and implementation of guidelines and standards, working closely with management and working groups as necessary.

To have consistent approach to the development of the nursing and care team within the home.

To work with the Home Manager and Practice Development Nurse to ensure standards are being upheld and continually developed at home level.

To work with nurses and multidisciplinary teams to implement new and updated practices.
