Full Job Description

Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking to appoint an innovative, proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Children and Young People's Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy within the Llanelli area with an area of clinical specialism which will be agreed upon appointment.

You will be expected to work as an integral part of the Occupational Therapy Service for Children and Young People delivering a high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy to children from birth up to eighteen years of age (nineteen if there is a diagnosed learning disability and the young person is attending specialist education).

As clinical lead, you will work closely with the Service Lead Occupational Therapist and an experienced team of Clinical Lead Occupational Therapists. You will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services for Children and Young People within the Llanelli area. You will also support the delivery and development of the service across the footprint of the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to carry a complex caseload working within clinic, education and home environments and will be required to liaise closely with staff within the Local Authority as this is within an Integrated Team.

You will also be required to liaise with professional networks across Wales and the United Kingdom relating to your area of specialism as part of both service development, clinical governance and to improve clinical practice.

The post holder will also be expected to offer training and support to the wider Occupational Therapy Service for Children and Young People, supervise staff and offer clinical placements to support the development of occupational therapy students within Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
