Full Job Description
A Vacancy at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As the clinical lead for Older Adults and AMU cross site at NPH and Ealing, the post holder will be the clinical lead for the specialist teams and have operational management responsibility for the deployment of resources (human, financial and material) for these services. He/she will provide leadership and accountability, co-ordinating the strategic and operational direction for the services. Services are provided to both in- and outpatients at NPH and Ealing. He /she will demonstrate sound leadership and management skills, ensuring appropriate policy development & effective service function. The post holder will be responsible for dealing with complaints & representing the service to the level of the Trust board. This post will be responsible for the overall management of Human Resources within the designated area, inclusive of direct linemanagement responsibility of 3 senior Clinical Lead staff and professional management responsibility for a further 42Therapistsand support staff. The role will also include responsibility for recruitment, appraisal & performance management. · To be professionally accountable for the planning and delivery of the Inpatient Adult Therapies Service across the Trust.This includes prioritising clinical need to provide an effective service; ensuringoperationalplansarein placefor workforce issues, e.g. recruitment,improving working lives, performance management etc. · To be the expert lead clinical occupational therapist accountable for the provision, development and management of inpatient, applying national standards and guidelines to the local setting. · To manage a highly complex caseload requiring specialist skills and interventions.To ensure the co-ordination of appropriate input from relevant individuals and servicestaking account of the degree of disability and handicap experienced by the patients, and the existence of clinical, social and psychological factors. · To identify the need for, instigate and / or recommend appropriate further investigations.To analyse results and use them to inform patient management decisions. · To use advanced clinical reasoning skills, assimilating information to diagnose suspected pathology which may have a complex or unusual presentation where expert opinion differs or where some information is not available. · Act as a resource for other professionals and agencies in the management of complex cases within the specialties, including provision of expertise and highly specialised advice across hospital sites.
