Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced pelvic health Physiotherapist to join our Pelvic Health team as Clinical Lead at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is permanent and advertised as Band 7 for 24 hours a week. You will primarily be based at York Hospital. The post will involve a hybrid mix of telephone consultations, virtual group work and face-to-face clinics across all sites within the Trust, which includes Selby, Malton and Scarborough.
The successful candidate will take lead responsibility for the the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team, working alongside the Extended Scope Practitioner in Perinatal and Pelvic Health, and Specialist Physiotherapists. You will manage your own interesting and varied caseload, providing advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations with complex physical and psychological symptoms associated with pelvic floor dysfunction conditions, including peri-natal, gynaecology, urology, pelvic pain, and colorectal referrals in an out-patient setting.
To take the role of Lead Specialist Clinician in the area of Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, taking responsibility for advancing clinical practice and embedding best practice in this area of care.
You will be confident in the delivery of clinical treatment and provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment within the specialty of Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, demonstrating complex clinical reasoning based on current evidence based practice.
You will provide leadership and assurance in evidence-based and effective practice, supporting the development of appropriate knowledge and skills of staff working in this area. You will lead on the evaluation of good practice and take action to improve standards of physiotherapy. You will engage other members of the team and work collaboratively as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To be responsible for your own personal development, actively seeking opportunities to develop your self and others. You will take an active part in accessing and providing regular supervision, including opportunities for reflection.
All candidates should be able to present information in a clear and logical manner, demonstrating the relevance of their previous experiences to the requirements of this role. As this is a specialist position, experience in NHS clinical skills encompassing the core areas of exercise therapy, management of pain symptoms, mobility training and therapeutic handling would also be an advantage., As part of seeking to become more inclusive, we will consider requests for flexible working from the start of your employment.
